Job Title: Head Middle School Track and Field Coach - 2026 Season 
Location: St. Labre, Ashland MT
Reports To: Athletic Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Head Coach to support our Middle School Track and Field program at St. Labre. The ideal candidate will assist in coaching student-athletes, fostering skill development, promoting sportsmanship, and encouraging academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans and conducting practices, meets, and other team activities.

  • Provide instruction and guidance in various track and field events, ensuring proper technique and safety.

  • Support the development of student-athletes' physical and mental abilities, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

  • Supervise athletes during practices, competitions, and travel to ensure safety and positive behavior.

  • Callobrate with Assistant Coaches to evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback.

  • Manages equipment and ensuring its proper use and maintenance.

  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and progress.

  • Uphold and enforce school and athletic policies and regulations.

  • Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating ethical behavior and promoting academic excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience coaching or participating in track and field preferred.

  • Strong understanding of track and field techniques, strategies, and safety protocols.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire middle school student-athletes.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Ability to pass background checks and meet school district requirements.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Practices and competitions held outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Availability for after-school practices, meets, and occasional weekend events.

  • Physical ability to demonstrate techniques and participate in training activities.
