Job Title: High School Secretary
Department: St. Labre School
Reports To: High School Principal
FLSA Status: Nonexempt – 10 month position
Job Code: 6B ($16.24-$19.09-$21.93)/hour

SUMMARY
Performs secretarial duties in private school by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Indicates the non-essential duties and responsibilities. Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labre's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

Notifies parents/guardians, administrators and appropriate agencies of high school students that are missing school.

Maintains a current high school student enrollment register and distributes to appropriate individuals or agencies.

Keeps current records and permanent records of all high school student attendance.

Keeps all high school student cumulative records up to date.

Composes, or transcribes from a rough draft, correspondence, bulletins, memorandums, and other material.

Compiles and files quarterly reports to include attendance, discipline, grade distributions, and honor roll.

Compiles and files other school reports and records as necessary.

Greets visitors to school, determines nature of business, and directs visitors to destination.

Talks with student encountering a problem and resolves problem or directs the student to appropriate personnel.

Answers telephone to provide information, takes a message, or transfer calls.

Maintains staff and student handbooks.

Takes, transcribes, and distributes minutes of staff meetings.

Compiles and distributes the daily bulletin.

Maintains current discipline and grade records.

Maintains a schedule of meetings and appointments for the principal.

Performs typing, filing and other duties as required by the high school principal.

Maintains calendar of school events.

Maintains high standard of professionalism (dress and conduct).

Conforms to and enforces the policies, school rules and prescribed programs.

Exercises diligence in the care of school property.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
General working knowledge/experience with computers and other office equipment.
Basic secretarial skills required.
