FLSA Status:                        Nonexempt – 12 month position

Salary Grade:                      3B ($12.00-$13.81-$15.61)/hr.

SUMMARY 

 

Keeps schools, gyms, offices, and work areas in clean, safe, and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. *Indicates the non-essential duties and responsibilities.  Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labre's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.

 

  1. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.

  2. Empties trash and garbage containers.

  3. Dusts, washes, and sanitizes cabinets, desks, etc.

  4. Fills paper towel and toilet paper dispensers.

  5. Dusts all shelves.

  6. Keeps all walls clean including bathroom stalls and mirrors.  Washes all doors, both inside and outside and keeps inside entrance ways clean.

  7. Washes and disinfects all toilet bowls, sinks, and water fountains.

  8. Keeps all areas around light fixtures clean.

  9. Keeps all custodial rooms neat and clean.

  10. Keeps paper supplies, garbage supplies, and cleaning solutions locked at all times.

  11. Notifies supervisor concerning need for repairs or problems.

  12. Operate and maintain Custodial Equipment.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

One to six months related experience and/or training preferred

  1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. 

  2. Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in

one-on-one situations and with other employees.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

 

Valid Montana driver's license preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, generally on cement floors; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear and taste or smell.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  

Required to wear or carry a 10.5 pound Backpack vacuum cleaner with attachments to perform floor duties.

 

This position has no special vision requirements other than normal corrected vision.
