Job Title: Donor Relations Clerk I

Reports To: Donor Relations Manager
FLSA Status: Nonexempt – 12 month position
Salary Grade: 3B ($12.00- $13.81-$15.61)/hr.

SUMMARY
Opens and counts incoming donations and maintains donor database by entering and editing data using the computer by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. *Indicates the non-essential duties and responsibilities. Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labre's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
Opening
1. Sorts mail when it arrives from the post office.
2. Opens mail using the Opex Rapid Extractor machine or the automatic letter opener.
3. Prepares bundles and routes them to the proper processing avenue.
Donation Processing
1. Counts and balances cash.
2. Posts donations into the donor database.
3. Enters alphanumeric data into the database and corrects any data entry errors.
4. Compiles, sorts and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.
5. Keeps the database updated with the latest donor information.
6. Operates Check 21 Scanners and uploads files for posting into the donor database.
7. Processes credit card transactions.
8. Reviews error reports and balances transactions.
9. Prepares cash and checks for bank deposits.
10. Communicates with donors, co-workers and other departments.
11. Takes deposits to the bank.
12. Answers donor phone calls.
* Assists other Development department areas when needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; one to six months related experience and/or training preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of, or the ability to learn the following computer programs:
FoxPro Database
Excel
Word
E-mail
Internet Explorer
Windows Explorer
2. Operate a 10-key adding machine.
3. Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
4. Must have problem solving and reasoning skills.
5. Must have good communications skills, both verbal and written.
6. Must be able to work effectively with different types of people and personalities.
7. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and with other employees.
8. Willingness to work overtime, if needed, holidays and weekends.
9. Respects the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ in private, personal, and public life.
10. Commitment to the mission of the Roman Catholic Church in Native American education.
11. Sensitivity to, and appreciation of Native American people and their cultures.
12. Ability to serve as an appropriate role model for students.
